Job Title: Mechanical Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer
Job Summary:
The Mechanical QC Engineer is responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring the mechanical products, equipment and systems (MEP Module, Duct, Pump & Tank) adhere to quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role includes the development and implementation of quality control procedures and the monitoring of manufacturing processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Testing:
- Perform inspections and tests on MEP Module, Duct, Pump & Tank, assemblies, and systems to verify they meet specifications.
- Conduct dimensional checks of the raw materials using appropriate tools such as micrometers, calipers, elcometer, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure that the final products meet customer specifications and relevant standards.
- Quality Documentation:
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, test results, and quality control documentation.
- Document non-conformance issues and report findings to the production team.
- Maintain records of quality checks and inspections for traceability and audits.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ASME, ASTM, and other relevant codes and regulations of the client’s requirements.
- Develop and implement quality control plans for products or processes.
- Identify areas for improvement in the manufacturing or production process to ensure consistent quality.
- Root Cause Analysis & Problem-Solving:
- Investigate defects or issues in products, and perform root cause analysis.
- Work with the project/production team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Supplier and Vendor Quality Management:
- Conduct inspections on incoming raw materials, components, and products from suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that products meet quality requirements.
- Perform audits on vendor processes and materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and management, regarding quality issues.
- Provide feedback to the production/project and engineering teams on product quality improvements.
- Assist in training and educating team members on quality control procedures and standards.
- Reporting to Quality Control Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficient in using measuring and testing tools, such as calipers, elcometer, micrometers, and gauges.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures of MEP Module, Duct, Pump & Tank systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards, such as ISO 9001, ASME, ASTM, etc.
- Understanding of MEP Module, Duct, Pump & Tank systems, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
